Sanxia old street temple

Continue our journey to discover the new things in Taiwan! Today, we are visited to the two temples located in the Sanxia old street.  There are two temples located in the Sanxia Old Street.The first place that we had visited is called the " ma zhu miao" (兴隆宫妈祖庙). I am the Chinese and my religion is Buddha. Thus, I will pray inside the both temples.The emergence of the both temples are came from the history of the Japanese take over the area of Taiwan. During the ancient time, the Japanese soldier has been burnt out  both of the temples.After passed the number of years, each of the temple rebuilt again to let more people get to know the true story or background of the temple. The Buddhism will pray inside the temple wish for the prosperous, safety ,and heath.

It is easy to get to the 兴隆宫妈祖庙 .兴隆宫妈祖庙is just located along the Sanxia Old Street, the code number of 50. 

 Next, we went to the second temple, called the "zu shi miao"' or (清水祖师庙). 清水祖师庙 is also a temple which has been burnt by the Japanese during the ancient time. The building structure of the 清水祖师庙is made by the cooper and wood.

 清水祖师庙 has took approximately 65 years to rebuilt again since 1947 till 2012. The special things of the
 structure inside the 清水祖师庙 is mostly from the graving.

Exposure the culture of Taiwan

Today,we went to another cultural place located in the Sanxia Old Street. We visited to the place called “甘乐文创”. 甘乐文创is a great place that consists of various type of the art related to the culture of the Sanxia. 甘乐文创had been started the business about two years, since the year of 2010 till recent. This is the amazing shop that provided the space for the youngster to appreciate and realize their traditional culture in the Sanxia. 甘乐文创 sell some of  the handmade cultural art in the Sanxia. The special feature of the 甘乐文创is the design of the building is come from the ancient houses located in the Sanxia. The picture inside of  the 甘乐文创is design and draw by the owner. The place of the 甘乐文创 is beautiful.

Before I stepped into the shop, i can experience the nature of the environment:

                                            

The surrounding of the shop is full of the plant.Outside of the shop also provided a space for the customer to chat and rest while enjoy the nature of the environment.

Next, let we have a look inside of the shop:

The structure of the building from the roof to the wall originated from the old houses design. The owner do not make any renovation of the shop. Thus, the customer can experience the true of the culture of the Sanxia.

The shop also provided food and beverages for the customer.





               


The things that arouse my attention and curiosity is the "来碗三峡”

"来碗三峡”is a type of bowl that shows the whole of the sanxia old street. The artist is so creative!

This is the place for the music band. Inside the shop provides the space for the customer listening to the music while enjoy their meal. 









Furthermore,inside the shop also sell various type of the handmade art and materials:

                       This is the handmade vinegar.

                                  

After visited the shop of 甘乐文创, I realise that the importance of the culture. We should cultivate the youngster to preserve the old tradition of the culture, so that the culture can be passed over the generation.甘乐文创 is the wonderful place to let us get nearer to the cultural experience.

Travel around Taiwan!

Continue to our next journey in Taipei. Today, Jitka and I are approaching to the Beitou hot spring. I was excited to take part in the spring. This is the first time that i go for the hot spring. So, hot spring is probably new for me. Finally, we have  arrived to the Beitou hot spring. Both of us change for the swimming suit and get down to the hot spring.

This is the place where we are get into the hot spring. The hot spring can be divided into cold spring and the hot spring. There are 2 cold spring and 4 hot spring. In the beginning,both of us don't know how which to start. we choose the hot spring in the top. Once we get our foot immerse inside the water, we feel damp hot! That time we just realize that we get into the hot spring at about 43 to 45 degree celcius. Then,both of us fast to shift to another spring. We get into the spring of 36-40 celcius spring.Once we get hot, we change to the cool spring to suit the body temperature. The hot spring only cost 40 yuan only.It is quite cheap!This is the great experience i have not try before. I like the hot spring so much.

The guideline to getting to the Beitou hot spring:


1) take bus to the "jing an" MRT station.From the "jing an" MRT station go to the Tamsui line

2) From the Tamsui Line,stop at the station of Beitou.

3) Shift the Beitou station to the " xin Beitou"

4) get down to the "xin bei tou" and walk around 15 minutes will arrive the public hot spring.

After a hot spring,both of us stop at the Japanese Restaurant to take our lunch.

 we continue our journey to the Tamsui old street. Tamsui old street is a great place.I try various type of the food. Both of us try the smelly tauhu. I get to try the red bean cookies and with a cup of almond drink. we come to one of the restaurant to try the seafood. My partner has ordered a plate of the snail. I do not try the snail because i think it is disgusting. After take our dinner, we come to the end of the trip.We leave the Tamsui old street. Overall, it is a wonderful day to exposure around the Taiwan.

The making of croissant

Today is a sunny day. My partner and I continue our research in the Sanxia Old Street. We realize that the Sanxia Old Street is a great place. Sanxia Old Street is a location where still  preserve the old tradition of culture. Instead of the culture, Sanxia Old Street is also a place that consist various type of  food  and ceramic. I being attracted by the beauty of the ceramic along the Sanxia Old Street. Besides that, the food stall along the Sanxia Old Street is tasty. My partner and I had tested many type of the foods. The owner of the shop also treat us well. Apart from our research, we gained the opportunity to appreciate the tradition culture of the Sanxia Old Street. I also get to know how the impact of culture could change in the future life. I realize the important of preserve and protect our own tradition culture. Due to the time passed, many of the youngster are neglected about their own tradition culture. After toward the research, I think that we should not forget about our own culture, instead we should appreciate and learn where the tradition of the culture come from.

Rather than just doing the research along the Sanxia Old street, my partner and I also get the opportunity to learn some of the basic handmade product. We have a chance to make the food by our own guidance from the worker inside the production line. One of the activity we participate with is the making of the "Horn like croissants" or it called as "金牛角 ”.This is the first time i get the opportunity to make the croissant by myself. We come to the shop of "Kang Hsi Shuan Croissants"( 康喜轩食品有限公司)to start the making of the croissants. First of all, we need to listen the background of the croissant. Next, we can experience to make the croissant inside the kitchen. I feel excited to join the making of croissant together with the children.

From the beginning, I feel hard to roll the dough. After the many time of trying, i finally grab some of the guideline to roll the dough. I follow the instruction of the worker and just keep on trying. I come out with the horn like shape of the croissant. Finally, I can make the croissant by my own. I very enjoy the process of making the croissant.

  Finally, I  make the croissants. There are two croissants.One is make by the worker and another one is make by me. Can you guess which one is make by me?

Kang Hsi Shuan Croissants( 康喜轩食品有限公司)

From these days, my partner and I had been visited many shops in the Sanxia Old Street. We have visited the bloody cake store, selling soap store, blue dying,and many more. I would like to share some of the great experience that we had encountered with along the Sanxia Old Street.

One of the shop that we have visited is called "' Kang Hsi Shuan Croissants"( 康喜轩食品有限公司). This is a popular shop that sell various type of the croissants,cake, handmade biscuit and many more. The croissant that offered by this shop is among the well-known snack in Taiwan. The name of the croissant is known as "金牛角 ” .  "金牛角 " is the traditional food in the Taiwan. Both of us gained the opportunity to taste the popular " ice-cream croissant" or "金牛角冰淇淋 ”. We love the ice-cream croissant so much. Besides that, we also have an experience to know the croissant making. Both of us had been invited to join the croissant making class together with the children. This is a great experience that i have not try before.

Bloody cake

One of the popular shop located along the Sanxia Old Street is the business of selling a bloody cake. As along my partner and I walked around the Sanxia Old Street, we saw there are many stalls are selling for the bloody cake. The first introduction of selling the bloody cake has started since 1990.  At this time,we get the opportunity to have an interview with one of the owner that sell the bloody cake. The shop that we had been interviewed is called "jiu pin xiang mi xue gao" or chinese known as "九品香米血糕”. The owner of the bloody cake is Uncle Zheng. Uncle Zheng has been opened the business of selling the bloody cake from many years.

Apart from our interview, we get to know the general background about the bloody cake. The business of the bloody cake has became a famous trend during the ancient time. Uncle Zheng has told us about the history regarding to the bloody cake. The emerge of the bloody cake is actually come from the life of village during the ancient time.The people during the ancient time mostly involve in the plantation. Majority of them get their food supply from what they had planted and kept.The people during the ancient time will get the meat supply by killing the chicken or duck that kept in the village. The blood fall from the chicken or duck once it has been dead. The people of the village came out with the idea to use the blood from the chicken or duck mixed with the rice.This is what we called as " bloody cake" or "米血糕“.During the passed of years, the bloody cake has been replaced by the blood from the pork.

Uncle Zheng has been operated the business of selling bloody cake since 2007 till 2012 in the Sanxia Old Street. Previously, Uncle Zheng has sold the bloody cake and the drink( 仙草茶).Bloody cake is a famous snack in the Taiwan.There are several way to make the bloody cake such as make it in soup, steam,fried or steamboat. The reason why Uncle Zheng take the business in selling the bloody cake is because he has experienced the life live in the village. He has been seen his grandmother to start the business of selling bloody cake since young. Uncle Zheng is being influenced by his ancestor and he is passion to get start into this type of business.

Beside, Uncle Zheng is active in the association.

Lastly, Uncle Zheng hope that the food of the bloody cake can spread over the worldwide. So that, the people will not curious about the bloody cake. The name of the bloody cake should get into every people mind. He hope that this traditional food should be continue past over the generation and should not be neglected.

This is the fourth day for me to join a student exchange programme. Today is a such a good starting day for me and my partner to exposed to the culture of the Taiwan. Today we had an great experience and a closer discovered about the old tradition Street located in the Taiwan. The place where I mean is the " Sanxia Old Street". We are guided by the vice president of Taiwan AISECER (Hua Hua) and the engineering consultant ( Lin Wen-Yu) throughout the journey. We gain an experience to learn and discover the original tradition in Taiwan. Throughout the journey, we get more information and description about the Taiwan tradition culture from two of them. This is the first time I learn about the tradition culture in Taiwan. I believe that throughout the journey.. it will broaden my knowledge and also arouse my interest to know more about Taiwan.

These are the pictures of Sanxia Old Street. Let me tell you about the background of the Sanxia Old Street. Sanxia Old Street is located in New Taipei City, Taiwan. This is a 260  meter long street and the building have stayed to 100 years. The Sanxia Old Street has been under the renovation. After took a three years renovation,  this Street reopen to the public in 2007. Sanxia Old Street is a beautiful place. My partner and I are not lose a single chance to capture more photo in this area.

At the ancient time, the people's  in the Sanxia Old Street mainly involve in the blue dyeing and the business activity. This has made the development of clothing and the business field in the Sanxia Old Street till recent. There are many shops located along the Sanxia Old Street.
